Nicolas Sauvage:
“Nicolas Sauvage is the President of TDK Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of TDK Corporation, a global leader in electronic solutions and advanced technologies. With $350M assets under management, TDK Ventures has backed 37 digital and energy innovation startups, including unicorns like Groq, Ascend Elements, and Silicon Box. For five consecutive years, he has been recognized on the Global Corporate Venturing Powerlist. Nicolas is a published author on corporate venturing (Harvard Business Review, London Business School, INSEAD) and the host of the Corporate Venturing Insider podcast. He also serves on the boards of Analog Inference, AutoFlight, Faction, Mach49, Metalenz, Virewirx, and TDK Ventures. Nicolas is an alumnus of the Stanford GSB, INSEAD, London Business School, ISEN Engineering School in France, and holds a Corporate Director Certificate from Harvard Business School.”
Andrew Humphries:
“Co-founder of The Bakery, Andrew has extensive and senior experience helping organisations to innovate better and faster, in building and scaling startups, and in corporate venturing and venture building.
Before co-founding his first startup in 1999, Andrew held senior roles at large corporates including Compaq and Siemens. He is a serial entrepreneur with multiple exits – apart from The Bakery, he was previously co-founder of Adeptra, a Fintech Startup, raising $43M before being acquired by FICO in 2013 for $135M. Between 2009 and 2019 he acted as a Senior Dealmaker for the Global Entrepreneur Programme of the Department of International Trade, a role focused on FDI, attracting high value startups to headquarter themselves in the UK.
In 2012 Andrew was appointed as the first “Tech City Champion”, responsible for helping to develop East London into a thriving tech hub, supporting and promoting the then newly formed Tech City Investment Organisation around the world in attracting established technology companies (such as Google), investors and thousands of early stage tech companies. He created the Startup Games which became one of the world’s biggest startup competitions and was deployed extensively by the UK Government around the world, including Australia and Singapore some years ago.
Andrew is one of the Sunday Times Maserati Top 100, recognised for his contribution and support for the next generation of entrepreneurs. He is also a Visiting Lecturer and Entrepreneur in Residence at Imperial College in London, in particular on their Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management Masters course.”
