As we await the International Women’s Day 2025 theme, the impact of 2024’s “Invest in women: Accelerate progress” continues to resonate. Jeanette Cheah, an award-winning education innovator, who has previously graced the West Tech stage, has been at the forefront of this movement. 

Jeanette is a woman on a mission with an incredible drive. This is obvious in her achievements so far – from building digital products in the corporate world to Co-founding an impact-focused EdTech company, HEX. She holds a plethora of awards and accolades, such as, winning the Entrepreneurship category, 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians and twice being listed as one of Australia’s Top 100 Innovators. However, she is not just a powerhouse in shaking up the tertiary education sector, but also a huge advocator for women in business. You’ll find her, on stage as a speaker and panelist talking all things start-up but also being an educator on leadership for women in business.

  1. Being visible for yourself – everyone already has a personal brand. You may as well take control of it. – How do you want people to talk about you when you’re not in the room?
  2. Being visible for your inner circle – Help your family, friends and colleagues see what is possible and be inspired.  What inspires your family? How do you already inspire them?
  3. Be visible to amplify impact – By sharing your vision visibly, you give people the chance to help you in ways you never expected.  What platforms or tools can you use to share your vision?
  4. Be visible for the girl you haven’t met yet – You never know who is watching, or which doors you’re opening for the next person. – What would your younger self need to have seen?
  5. Be visible because the world needs to hear your voice and your individual unique story. Someone needs to hear what you have to say in the exact way only you can say it. – What makes you and your vision unique?
  6. Pay it forward – Pass on opportunities for others in your professional circle to create momentum. – How can my skills and vision be useful for others?

Jeanette’s future projects are equally inspiring, with programs such as HEX High Accelerator – a 6-week online cohort program designed for students in Yr 9-12. Here the students are given the opportunity to build their startup, get industry mentorship and gain a university academic transcript. Enrollments are currently taking place for Term 4 ’24 and Term 1 ’25 with both parents and schools or Government agencies able to enroll their child/students.
